To meet the requirements for high-precision, high-sensitivity, and high-frequency-response pore water pressure measurement under multi-field coupling and complex soil conditions, while accommodating special working conditions such as static and dynamic centrifuge tests, extremely stringent miniaturization design specifications are often imposed on pore water pressure sensors. Meanwhile, to accurately measure high-frequency and rapidly rising dynamic pore water pressure waveforms without disturbing the flow field, the sensor must possess a high natural frequency and an extremely short rise time, so as to precisely reproduce the evolution of pore water pressure.
In response to these demands, the DSP-II pore water pressure sensor has been developed. This sensor utilizes a high-performance MEMS piezoresistive sensing die imported from Switzerland, combined with internationally advanced welding technology and miniaturized packaging techniques. The sensing die is encapsulated in a stainless steel housing and protected by stress-free adhesive. It features a small effective size, fine wire diameter, compact structure and high robustness, while exhibiting excellent static/dynamic response characteristics and long-term stability. More importantly, this series of miniature piezoresistive pore water pressure sensors adopts an innovative optimized split structure with threaded connections. This design not only simplifies the saturation and cleaning procedures of the porous stones, enables technicians to flexibly select suitable porous stones according to different soil types, but also enhances the fault detection capability of the sensor and significantly improves the utilization efficiency of core components.
